Free routine

Driving Mode

When the phone detects you are driving, it reads new messages aloud, turns media up, keeps the screen on longer and holds back everything else with Do Not Disturb.

Scan with Routines+

  1. Install Good Lock from the Galaxy Store and add the Routines+ module.
  2. Open Routines+ and tap ImportScan QR code.
  3. Scan the code above, then turn the routine on. First drive or two may be needed while the phone learns your driving pattern.

Import the file

  1. Download the file to your Galaxy phone.
  2. Open Routines+ and tap ImportFrom file, then choose driving-mode.rtn.
  3. Check the actions, pick your car under Bluetooth if you use that trigger, and turn the routine on.
Opening a .rtn file needs the Routines+ module. Without Good Lock, use the Build it tab.

Build it yourself

Settings › Modes and Routines › Routines tab › +. Add each action in order.

  1. If › Context › Driving. Prefer a car trigger? Use Connections › Bluetooth device and pick your car stereo.
  2. Then › Notifications › Do not disturb › On. Allow calls from Anyone or Favourites, and repeat callers.
  3. Notifications › Read notifications aloud › On, choose your messaging apps.
  4. Sounds and vibration › Media volume › ~70%.
  5. Display › Screen timeout › 10 minutes.
  6. Connections › Bluetooth › On.
  7. Name it Driving Mode, choose an icon, tap Save. Actions revert when the Driving condition ends.
